Weekly Announcements
Weekly Announcements
Here are the announcements from this Sunday's bulletin:

  • Elders of the month for September will be the Class of 2018. They will be in charge of opening and closing the church on Sundays.
  • Please help us keep the prayer chain current and correct, especially the military section. Updates are appreciated.
  • Please help us keep our facility secure. Make sure all doors are locked, lights are off, and thermostats are set to a cool 80 degrees when you leave.
  • The needs of the food pantry are great. Robert needs help stocking food and possibly another freezer. We also need help with food distribution as Robert will be having eye surgery. If you are able to help in any way, please let Robert or Dr. Jim know you can help.
  • This is the time of year when people move. Please take the time to invite new coworkers, neighbors, attendees at social functions or service clubs to come and be the church with us at 2nd and Oklahoma. Then, invite them to lunch afterwards. Most people make the decision to attend church and choose a congregation within 6-8 weeks of their move.
  • Don't forget to sign up your kids for 3:16 (Kindergarten through 3rd Grade). You can do so by coming by the office. We also need volunteers. Please see Michele if you are able to help.
  • Can you believe how many things began “happening” at the church recently? Please pray for all our programs and for new ways we can serve as well!
  • Financial Peace University will begin Monday, September 16th. The cost is $109. Sylvie and Jay Agwe will teach. Those interested in enrolling for the course can register at https://www.fpu.com/1097720 or come by the office and Linda will help register you. Some scholarships are available for those who would find the cost prohibitive.

Homebound Outreach   Our late worship service is always broadcast live on KFST 860 AM each Sunday morning beginning at 11:00 AM. We would also be honored to bring our homebound members the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. Call the church office to make arrangements.

Cub Scouts   Cub Scout Pack 154 is sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church.   The Cub Scout program is for boys 7-10 years of age.   Any boy wishing to join Cub Scouts can contact Denise Warren at (915) 637-2387 or Genevieve Melendez at (432) 290-5472 for further information.
